About Laser Nexus

Laser Nexus is an optics puzzle. A laser fires from a source. You turn mirrors so the beam reaches every target. Walls block the light. Splitters send part of the beam off and let the rest go straight on.

How to play

  1. Find the source and follow the beam with your eyes.
  2. Tap a mirror or splitter to turn it a quarter turn.
  3. Send each beam into a target of the same colour.
  4. Light every target to clear the level.
  5. Use Hint if you're stuck. It points at one piece to turn.

What it practises

A 45 degree mirror turns a beam by exactly 90 degrees. This is the law of reflection from physics class. Each of the 10 levels adds one idea and a short real-life fact. The game counts your taps and shows the fewest possible.

Questions

How do mirrors reflect a laser?
Light bounces off a mirror at the same angle it arrived. A mirror tilted at 45 degrees turns the beam by 90 degrees.
What does a splitter do?
It turns part of the beam and lets the rest pass. One beam can then light two targets.
How do you get three stars?
Light all the targets in the fewest taps without any hint. Within two extra taps and one hint gives two stars.
