About Pa tang

Patang is a kite-fighting game. You fly from your rooftop and try to cut the neighbours' kites. The game is new and in beta. Drag to steer and pull in, and let go to let the string out. Touch a neighbour's string to start a pench, the fight where two strings cross.

How to play

  1. Start with the first flight against Pappu. It teaches steering and your first fight.
  2. Drag to steer and pull in. Let go to let the string out and drift with the wind.
  3. Touch a neighbour's string to start a pench. Both strings show how worn they are.
  4. Win the fight to cut their kite. Steer into it as it falls to catch it.
  5. If they cut you, a spare kite goes up. You lose one star, and the sky carries on.

What it practises

It practises reading an opponent and good timing. Two fight rules are being tried. In one, you tap the opposite of what they show. In the other, you tap as a closing ring meets a circle. Today's sky has three neighbours, or five on Sundays. Some neighbours have habits you can learn from the sky book.

Questions

How do kite fights work?
Two flyers cross strings and pull until one string breaks. The loose kite then falls, and anyone can catch it.
What is Makar Sankranti?
It's the festival in January when many people fly kites. Patang gives you a bigger sky on 14 and 15 January.
Is there a daily challenge?
Yes. Today's sky is the same for everyone. Practice skies are there when you want more.
