1. The "Corner Expansion" Strategy
The most common mistake beginners make is picking the color that seems to have the most adjacent tiles randomly. Instead, your goal should be rapid expansion toward the corners and edges.
The board's center is naturally easier to flood because it touches more tiles in every direction. The corners, however, are isolated. By prioritizing colors that build a path toward the farthest corners of the board, you minimize the "wasted" moves you'd otherwise have to spend mopping up single isolated pixels at the end of the game.
Quick Tip: Look at the four corners of the board before your first move. Which one looks the hardest to reach? Build your strategy around capturing that corner first.
2. Think Two Steps Ahead (The Combo Rule)
Never pick a color just because it matches a large clump right now. Instead, look at the colors behind the clump.
If you choose Blue because it grabs 5 pixels, but those 5 pixels only touch Red tiles, and you don't have a good Red play lined up, it's a dead end. Conversely, choosing Green to grab only 3 pixels might open up a massive chain reaction of Yellow and Purple on your next turns.
